About the Role
REPORTING TO: Founder
JOB SUMMARY: Sustainability/Circularity Program Leader will be responsible for
1. Developing & implementing textile circularity programs for hotels
2. Ensuring registration & compliance with relevant standards
3. Managing verification & audit processes
4. Calculating carbon footprints
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development & Implementation:
1. Develop and implement circularity programs tailored to the needs of Indian hotels.
2. Establish program goals, timelines, and resource allocation.
Standards & Compliance:
1. Identify and interpret relevant sustainability standards and regulations related to textile circularity (e.g., GRS, RCS, Cradle to Cradle).
2. Ensure program compliance with standards through diligent monitoring & documentation.
Verification & Auditing:
1. Identify and appoint Independent Verification Authorities (IVAs) and auditors.
2. Manage audit process, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection and reporting.
Recycling operations:
1. Ensure chain of custody from collection to recycling through appropriate labelling
2. Identify and appoint integrated logistics service providers from collection to recycler
3. Build team of sorters & segregators of textile waste
4. Identify and appoint recyclers with different fibre capabilities with relevant sustainability standards and regulations related to textile circularity (e.g., GRS, RCS, Cradle to Cradle).
5. Secure carbon credit
Carbon Footprinting:
1. Shortlist key components for carbon footprint analysis in the textile lifecycle.
2. Compute baseline carbon footprints using recognized methodologies
3. Analyze data to identify areas for reduction and improvement.
Reporting & Documentation:
1. Create comprehensive reports required by hotels, including sustainability metrics, carbon footprint assessments, and program performance.
2. Communicate program results and insights to stakeholders in a clear & concise manner.
Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) Platforms:
1. Evaluate and select suitable VCM platforms for potential carbon offsetting projects.
2. Manage the registration and verification of carbon credits.
Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Build & maintain relationships with hotels, suppliers, auditors, & other relevant stakeholders.
2. Provide training and support to hotel staff on circularity practices.
Continuous Improvement:
1. Stay updated on latest trends & best practices in textile circularity & sustainability.
2. Continuously improve program based on performance data & stakeholder feedback.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Textile Technology, Environmental Science, Sustainability Management or related discipline.
EXPOSURE:
1. Familiarity with textile sustainability standards and certification processes.
2. Exposure to carbon footprinting methodologies (e.g., ISO 14064, GHG Protocol).
3. Prefer experience in sustainability program management, textile manufacturing, or environmental auditing.

About the Company
We are a Bangalore based start-up proposing to offer to Indian hotels an environmental solution – a composite textile recycling program from textile waste collection to recycling enabling hotels to establish a circular supply chain which will generate verifiable carbon credits.
