cKinetics is looking for an energetic Senior Associate who is passionate about the carbon and clean fuel market & energy transition space and looking to lead a project and a team that does meaningful cutting edge work.
We work across compliance clean fuel markets, including California LCFS, Washington CFS, Oregon CFP, Canada CFR, and BC LCFS, as well as low-carbon fuels such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Renewable Diesel (RD), and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). Through our market intelligence, analytical models, and data-driven products, we help businesses, investors, and policymakers navigate the rapidly evolving global clean fuels and energy transition landscape.

Purpose of the position
The role involves assessing and evaluating research elements to produce required Outputs for client deliveries. Deliverables include creative presentations/narratives backed by market analysis, data insights and modelling.
The candidate must:
(i) develop an understanding of different drivers and constraints impacting specific market within the clean fuel markets
(ii) manage end-to-end Project delivery including oversee different team members working on the concerned projects
(iii) Guide the team members in undertaking primary and secondary research; as also formulate appropriate solution frameworks
(iv) support practice leadership in crafting necessary collateral such as White Papers and Intelligence Briefs as also business proposals.
Key responsibilities
Sector and Industry Research
• Undertaking analysis of global, and regional clean fuel programs with specific focus on North America & EU.
• Monitoring legislative changes and market developments and assessing their impact on respective carbon markets/ programs.
• Leading conversation with clients, advisors, and external market participants globally and solving client problems.
• Identifying patterns and trends in data to draw conclusions and make inferences and build spreadsheet based models
Project & Time Management
• Plan and execute projects along with team members– Adhering to task completion timelines by self monitoring and aligning with Analysts for high quality and timeliness delivery.
• Collaborating with the project/ internal teams – Work with internal stakeholders (Engagement Managers/Directors/Partners) to develop cohesive solutions for client projects/ problems/ programs/ product.
• Owning delivery for on-demand consulting projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery and with requisite client delight.
Client Engagement
• Ensuring client delight through analytical, impactful, and world-class written and oral presentations backed with data insights, trends, patterns, etc. derived from structured/ unstructured data analysis
• Create customized Client retention strategies through high client engagement activities
Business Development Support
• Provide business development support by undertaking active pursuits with existing and potential cKinetics clients – this shall entail developing proposals, concept notes and other collateral as needed for presenting cKinetics capabilities
• Developing innovative solutions and aim to generate new intellectual property in these markets via new product offerings/ thematic topics / new developments
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate must have the desire to work in Sustainability transition interventions and must have the following mindset and skills sets:
• Proactive, independent individual passionate about sustainability.
• Flexible & creative mindset; adept at understanding diverse markets and client organizations.
• Problem-solver with a drive to take ownership.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent presentation skills.
• Proficient in financial modelling with experience of developing spreadsheet-based models, with a plus for econometrics modelling.
• Ability to work ‘hands-on’ and multi-task in an energetic environment.
• Up-to date with global events, with interest in energy & environmental sciences.
• Passionate about presenting & discussing research findings to high-level audiences and industry experts.
Academic qualifications & Experience
• A MBA/Master’s in engineering, or a related technical field
• Demonstrated research, education, or work experience related to transportation, climate change, energy, or public policy
• Experience as an author or co-author of papers, technical or policy reports, white papers, and other forms of written communication.
• Must have relevant 4-7 years of experience in consulting in a related field: clean fuel programs, biofuels, oil & gas, energy transition, sustainability and low carbon transition sector, and renewable energy.
