Work Type & Schedule: Full time; Permanent role;

Work Location: Okhla, New Delhi and Mumbai; Field travel for client projects

cKinetics is looking for a seasoned Engagement Manager who is passionate about the Sustainable Finance space and looking to lead a project and a team to create meaningful cutting-edge work.

The candidate would be part of the Sustainability Finance/ Climate Finance advisory practice, with a special focus on areas related to Green/Climate Finance and/or Sustainable and Responsible Investing. The Sustainability Finance team at cKinetics provides research and strategic advisory in the areas related to Sub-National Climate Finance Advisory, Climate Finance, ESG-related corporate risks /disclosures, and cleantech investments to help build the business case for Sustainability by constructing models that capture financial flows and financial impact on businesses/investors.

Purpose of the position

An Engagement Manager will be responsible for overall Project Accountability and also support the practice business development efforts. An Engagement Manager at cKinetics is expected to lead in development of "insights" leading to value creation for the clients.

The candidate will be required to

(i) develop deep insight of different drivers and constraints in the sustainable finance workspace to present the solution framework and

(ii) manage end-to-end Project delivery including oversee different team members working on the concerned projects

(iii) Guide the team members in undertaking primary and secondary research; as also formulate appropriate solution frameworks

(iv) support practice leadership in crafting necessary collateral such as White Papers and Intelligence Briefs as also business proposals.

Key responsibilities

Project Management

· Build the business case in Sustainability related areas including but not limited to Corporate ESG disclosure, investor portfolio assessment, sustainability finance, green/ climate finance, and sustainability and responsibility investing (SRI)

· Provide expert climate finance advisory services to clients including but not limited to corporations, governments, and financial institutions on how to mobilise and manage funds aimed at mitigating and adapting to climate change.

· Lead the project team(s) in formulating timely and cost-effective solutions

· Regular monitoring of the project progress on quality parameters & timelines as also providing oversight and inputs to different team members on assigned tasks

· Plan and undertake Onsite/ On-ground field or site visits as required for the different engagements

Client Engagement

· Ensuring client delight through analytical, impactful, and world-class written and oral presentations backed with data insights and requisite analysis

· Create customized Client retention strategies through high client engagement activities

Business Development Support

· Provide business development support by undertaking active pursuits with existing and potential cKinetics clients – this shall entail developing proposals, concept notes and other collateral as needed for presenting cKinetics capabilities

· Developing imaginative solutions in the Sustainability Finance arena - create innovative offerings and aim to generate new intellectual property

Team Management & Development

· Nurturing and building a high caliber team by unlocking their potential through work opportunities and people development tools and plan to upskill them

· Managing and mentoring the Senior Associates, Associates, and Analysts to align them with the company and client expectations.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate must have the desire to work in Sustainability Finance and Sustainability transition interventions and must have the following mindset and skills sets:

· Proactive and independent person with a demonstrated passion as relates to sustainability

· Flexible and creative mindset; curious and creative individual able to understand quickly the complexities of the client organization’s products and markets

· Prior experience in managing projects in similar domain

· Strong analytical abilities and excellent presentation skills

· Well acquainted with financial modelling and project finance essentials

· Ability to work ‘hands-on’ and multi-task in an energetic environment

· Ability to present and discuss the research and findings to a high-level audience and industry experts

Academic qualifications & Experience

· MBA /Master’s degree / CFA Level III certification and a desire to work in the Sustainability space

· Must have relevant 6-8 yearsof experience in consulting: either management consulting or market research in Finance, ESG, Climate Finance and Carbon Markets
