About the Role
- Working collaboratively with Regional Strategic Consulting teams to help win, deliver and manage projects for a broad range of public and private sector clients.
- Undertaking detailed assessments related to GHG inventories, decarb opportunities, models, opportunities to reduce emissions, clean fuel switching strategies, at a company and city-wide level and conduct life-cycles assessments to measure and quantify environmental impacts of specific operations
- Contributing to analyzing policies that can be deployed to incentivize a scale-up in renewable energy, particularly in end-uses, providing case studies, identifying lessons learnt and policy recommendations.
- Ability to translate complex processes and concepts in non-technical and end-user friendly language.
- Experience in interpretation and application of energy/regulatory frameworks applicable to power generation and distribution at state and national levels across regions
- Designing and developing programmers related to the application of long-term planning and modelling materials for capacity building and provide quality control for the deliverables.
- Proactively searching for and identifying new links and opportunities for outreach – both internal and external – to achieve greater impact of planning and modelling analysis.
- Assertiveness and willingness to take the initiative, e.g. driving projects forward proactively, making things happen, has a can do attitude and presents possible solutions to more senior staff.
- Willingness to learn to improve the spectrum of technical and softer skills required from a good consultant
Requirements
- A postgraduate or professional qualification in Bachelors / Masters’ degree majoring in Engineering / Science or a related field. PhD in the related field is preferable
- More than 5-7 years of experience working in carbon accounting, modelling, voluntary and compliance markets, decarbonization strategies, with the ability to provide advisory & delivery services.
- Have experience in one or more related sectors (e.g. water, rail, aviation, ports and waterways, highways and toll roads, social infrastructure, healthcare).
- Possesses strong understanding of how to measure and quantify GHG emissions, ensure compliance with regulations, decarbonization or carbon off-set strategies, etc
- Understanding and experience of TCFD reporting framework and guidelines
- Strong analytical and structured thinking, exposure to team work as well as global stakeholder engagement.
- Strong research & analysis ability supplemented with excellent report writing capabilities.
- Effective communication including presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels professionally
